Who are BILD and what does BILD do?

The British Institute of Learning Disabilities (BILD) works with the government and other organisations to improve the lives of people with learning disabilities.  BILD also does research, such as how to include people with learning disabilities in making decisions and tells other people about what it finds.

BILD provides training to staff, family carers and people with a learning disability, and involves people with a learning disability in some of the training that it provides.

BILD publishes books, journals and training materials.  Members of BILD get lots of benefits, including free copies of a BILD journal.   More information about Membership can be found by accessing BILD's website: www.bild.org.uk

BILD also works with advocacy groups, and people with learning disabilities to help them give their views on the services they receive.
