Positive Options 'Train the Trainer' programmes.

There are 3 different programmes to prepare people to become Positive Options Licensed MAPA® Trainers.

Each programme is accredited by BILD and prepares people to attain a ‘level’ that is appropriate to meet the needs of their particular organisation:

Level 1 Positive Options Licensed MAPA® Trainers complete a 40-day academic programme and are eligible to deliver the complete range of theoretical and physical components of the Positive Options MAPA® curriculum.  Our Level 1 Course is affiliated with a West Midlands based University and the course is delivered at degree level and contributes credits to a degree in a health and/or socially orientated University degree programme.

Level 2 Positive Options Licensed MAPA® Trainers complete a 15-day programme and are eligible to deliver a significant proportion of the theoretical and physical components of the Positive Options MAPA® curriculum.

Level 3 Positive Options Licensed MAPA® Trainers complete a 7-day programme and are eligible to deliver a 1-day Personal Safety at Work course from the Positive Options MAPA® curriculum.

Click here to access our 'options and outlines' document that describes Positive Options 'Training the Trainers' Programmes in more detail, including Eligibility Criteria for staff that are nominated to attend the training and Approved Training Centre (ATC) status.

Importantly, successful completers of these programmes become eligible to provide the Positive Options BILD accredited MAPA® programmes within their workplace so that all participant certificates will carry the BILD logo as a quality indicator.

Consequently, from April 2006, attendance at  any of the Positive Options MAPA® Trainer programmes is contingent upon the employing organisation entering into a formal arrangement with Positive Options to establish an ‘Approved Training Centre’ (ATC) as outlined on a separate webpage.

The 'Train the Trainer' and ATC option enables organisations to implement a flexible and cost-effective strategy to in-house training that is externally supported and monitored to ensure that it is provided in accordance with national guidance and standards.
